Be aware Parents! Don’t get unnecessarily upset if you find that your teenager, a once sober and sensible child, behaves in a completely weird manner when they are with friends.

Doctors say a good peer group help teenagers to keep all perplexities and anguish at a distance. They are learning to deal with different personalties and is well on his way to being a mature adult. But how do you as a parent help your child to deal with peer pressure?

Here’s how,

  1. Some kids cave to peer pressure as they want to be in a group, and they think that kids may make fun of them if they follow the general group.
  2. Encourage your child to find inner strength and self-confidence and remind him to be firm with what he believes.
  3. Help hem choose friends who are reliable but don’t criticize the friends he already has, good or bad.
  4. Encourage him to walk away from peers who are patently doing wrong things like smoking, cutting class, drugs, and drinking.
