Eating disorders among teens is on the rise because a lot of teenagers today have self-esteem issues. Disorders such as anorexia and bulimia have become household names as it has been estimated that around 25 million people are actually struggling with these conditions. However, anorexia is the most common among all disorders despite being the most dangerous. It is important to note though that not all teens have the same “level” of disorder because some are worse than others. But the disorder can progress as to become debilitating if it is not addressed. So if your teens suffer from any of the below signs, you should consult with an expert right away:

1.       Losing weight at an incredibly alarming pace

2.       Clothes are becoming too big in such as short time

3.       The teen spends more time in her room than normal

4.       Always commenting that she is fat

5.       Suffers from a paler look

6.       Makes excuses for not eating dinner

7.       Suffers from unusual mood swings

8.      Lethargic and lacks energy for any kind of activity

If you notice these symptoms, you should become concerned. Try to confront your child about her condition and her problems. But if this does not work, try to get professional help.
