Raising your children the right way!
Going up and down the escalator is usually taken for granted but did you know that using the escalator can be quite dangerous for a child who does not know any better? To help prevent any untoward incidents, here are some escalator safety tips you should be aware of:
· Don’t touch the stationary slides
· Hold the handrail
· Stand with feet slightly apart
· Watch your step when you enter or leave the escalator
· Don’t slide off when leaving the escalator
· Never ride an escalator without shoes or slippers
· Be careful with loose clothing
· Keep your hands off moving parts
· Use the elevator instead if you carry heavy packages
Aside from these basic tips, you should also be aware of the simple rules in riding the elevator. For example, you should not walk up on an elevator going down and the opposite is also true. In addition, don’t use a non-moving elevator as your stair because it can be suddenly turned on.
And of course, you should not run up or down the escalator steps because you may cause injury to yourself or other people. If you are using a stroller or a wheelchair, it is recommended for you to use the elevator instead.
Being a parent can be challenging, so on my blog TodaysParent I hope that I will be able to provide some parenting insights from one parent to another.
