Parents have a lot to think about. From the financial concerns of raising a family to thinking about the school they will enroll their children in, it is inevitable for parents to feel pressured and stressed. When you are worried or anxious, your body will feel tense as it prepares to “fight or flight”. The body is designed to respond to threat so if any physical danger is present, the “fight and flight” reaction can certainly be beneficial. However, feeling stressed will cause a constant tension in both the body and mind.

You should not lose hope though because stress can be handled in a way that a person will be able to cope effectively with it. Learning to relax is the first and most important step in reducing stress. There are so many ways to relax; the technique you should use depends on your preference.

But one technique that is always effective is deep breathing because it will cause your body to immediately relax as it breathes the air in and out. There are also more sophisticated techniques in relaxation such as having a massage or joining a yoga class. Parents should definitely take a time out to lessen the pressure they feel and indulge once in a while.
