Every kid will throw temper tantrums at one time or another; it is all simply part of being a kid. It is important for parents not to freak out when their kids turns into a kicking and screaming piece of bundle. You should realize that children, most especially toddlers, don’t know how to say when they’re mad. The result is, they will lash out through temper tantrums. It is a good thing that parents can minimize these triggers. Here are some tips:

1.       Know its triggers – usually, tantrum occurs because children experience boredom, hunger, exhaustion, or overstimulation. Parents need to figure out what sets their child off; for example, if he becomes tired after 30 minutes of shopping, don’t push him for any longer than this.

2.       Calm him – grab his hands if he wants to strike. Make him realize that hitting other people is not okay and let him know that you will be mad when he does this.

3.       Be a good example – don’t lose your temper when your spouse leaves his socks on the floor; chances are, your child will also lose his temper for small offenses because of this.
