Raising your children the right way!
Children inevitably suffer from cold or flu at one time or another. It is simply part of growing up and they will have to deal with these conditions even when they become adults. As a parent though, you can do something to maximize their comfort. Giving them water to be followed by ice pops and ginger ale will enable them to cough up the phlegm so that they can breathe better. In addition, letting them drink fruit juices will aid in making them feel better.
When your child is suffering from sore throat, giving them cold liquid or warm liquid can soothe them as well. It is recommended for you to let them drink hot chocolate, warm tea, or even cold juices in these instances. Citrus juice should be avoided though because of its acidity which can hurt your child’s throat. However, if they prefer to drink orange juice, letting them drink this will be fine.
Of course, everyone knows that chicken soup is the favorite remedy for colds and even fever. So when your child suffers from these conditions, be sure to prepare chicken soup for them. Try to make the chicken soup as special and as delicious as possible.
